On the night of February 4 th 1999, he was shot at by four policemen in plain clothes in NewYork. The officers were Sean Carroll, Richard Murphy, Edward McMellon and Kenneth Boss. The police officers mistook Diallo to be a rape suspect from a year before. They emptied forty one rounds which nineteen hit him outside his apartment at 1157 Wheeler Avenue in the Soundview section of The Bronx. This is a poem I wrote in dedication to the struggles of our country's heroes in uniform. from south to north east to west they protects us. They are the reason we are able to sleep well at night. They gave their lives for our freedom They loved their country more than life. and always did what was right. To protect their country. Next time you see a soldier, don’t just pass them by.
